Difference in years
while coming across our volunteers comments, i like to share one thing, the world is growing like yesterday belief are not having much of value today, in this case, it is our cultural property, we have lot of facilities to record our todays life but we have very few things only to remember and reveal how gloriously,painfully our history was made,please respect our history atleast when entered in it

These problems mentioned in your article is not only faced by chitambaram temple. Almost all over tamilnadu temples and treasures are getting spoiled by these so called priests. It can be solved only by creating an awareness among public about what is prayer? and how prayer can be completed without involving money.

Hey our tamilnadu Government,do anything for us,they didn't belive that we are all Humanbeings. They will not do anything for us.When there is any Election time they will beg us.that should not be maintained by them.So plz that area's people have to do their best.

I lived in chidambaram since my childhood. The temple north entrance is so filthy, which is literally locals toilet. During nights, some parts of the temple premises been used for prostitution. Even the gold coating from the pillars of various shrines has been scraped out. Only god can save this temple from those culprits.

I think the Tamilnadu government has most of the responsibility to maintain and keep the temples as a safe to visit. I see these days the chiefminister Ms. Jeyalalitha posing herself for the TV at almost every occasions claiming that she is the saviour for the public. Why doesn't she then bother about things like this.

Now the report about Chidambaram priests (Dikshithars) are more on the lines of their bad discriminating behavior, craving for money and earning by illegitimate ways. Most of them are prone to bad habits like drinking alcohol, Non Veg foods and tobacco chewing (even in the temple premises), womanizing and above all they are all affiliated to the local political parties to protect themselves.

Siva, you have written an excellent article on Chidambaram.It is very sad to hear about the incidents that happen outside the temple.The temple authorities should take sterner actions against the culprits who disrupt the peace around the temple.People should be educated about the value of temple worship,the history behind the temple and most importantly human values should be introduced in schools.Spiritual education is very important and should be introduced in the main curriculam.There is so much money spent on making movies where violence is portrayed.The young ones assume they should follow what the villain has done and it is ''cool to be nasty''.
