We were in Limassol for a week and took these pictures between November 27 and December 4, 2004. To be honest, we were quite disappointed in Limassol, which we found very plain (but we are sure there are other, nicer places in Cyprus for example Paphos we found quite interesting and prettier, see our article # 99481). On the positive side, the weather was gorgeous (around 20 C and sunny every day), which was lucky for us because the week before our arrival had been cold and cloudy/rainy. Also, if youre an English speaker, it is easy to get by in Cyprus because English is their second language (Greek being first), and theres very little crime in Limassol. Beware, though, that most things are very expensive in Cyprus in fact often more expensive than in Finland (e.g., cigarettes and most restaurants), which is pretty incredible. And mind the traffic if youre used to cars driving on the right in Cyprus they drive on the left. Riia almost got hit by a car a few times, starting to cross a street looking in the wrong direction!
