On 6 November 2004, I decided to do my first trek in NZ. I joined the "Ultimate Hike" package, combining the 'finest walk in the world' Milford Track and the Routeburn Track. This tells the story of the Milford Track. Routeburn is next.

The Milford Track is a 5-day, 56 kms hike taking you mainly through forest landscape. Actual walking was only 4 days; the fifth was spent on a cruise on the Milford Sound. They say the Milford Sound is better in the rain; I think i can see why. Mlford Sound is not really a sound but ... (more)
