The lemurs are found only in Madagascar, an island country off the east coast of Africa. After starting in the northern part of the country, I traveled south, seeing many species of the lemur. Arriving in a lemur sanctuary called Berenty in the most southern part of the country, a walking safari brings the lemurs out in abundance to view the hikers.
