Sunscape Beach, Punta Cana DR - Dec 2004

This is a new hotel. It had been open only about a week and a half at the time these photos were taken. There are still some "growing pains" but most things seemed to be in order. There appeared to be a lot of construction going on, but it's segregated from where the registered guests were. We were not staying at the hotel, but invited ourselves in for a walkaround and a photo shoot. We adopted the "leave nothing but footprints; take nothing but photos" mode. Windy? not really!
I'm not sure which photo (or photos) made you think it was windy. There's lots of ocean between the hotel and the next land, and there is usually a nice refeshing breeze. The wind was about 10 knots (12 mph) when the photos were taken. If you are referring to the white water in the beach pictures, that's the waves breaking over the reef. And, by my definitions, the water is quite warm.

never been to carrabean!!
I have nevr been to the carrabean and found a good price on this resort. Is it very windy? as telling from the photos it looks very windy. And is the sea/ocean warm?

Where it's At
It's well up the coast at Uvero Alto. If you can find Secrets or Sirenis on a map, then it's just down the beach. And yes, it's about an hours drive from the airport. see http://www.dominicanimpressions.com/maps/1/img6.htm
