Brezova pod Bradlom (population around 5,498) is a small town at NW slopes of Male Karpaty mountains in W Slovakia. The first written mention on the town dates in 1595. The inhabitants earn their lives by cattle breeding, growing of wheats and fruit trees (mainly plums) and some crafts (in hte past, mainly weaving, soapmaking and tanning were the most usual). During the last century, some smaller mechanical industries were also established here.
