Mactan Island (57 sq. km) linked to Cebu Island Bridge is a raised ancient coral reef standing about three meters above sea level. The island, with 90,000 inhabitants, present diverse environment containing an urban center, port, shipyard, oil depot, industrial complexes, an export processing zone, the fishing town Cordova, coconut groves, mangrove swamps, cultivated fields, Mactan International Airport and several beach resort and five star hotels.
