The Lambourn Valley.
The river Lambourn wends its way through a valley of chalk hills for thirteen miles, from the horse racing village of Upper Lambourn to the historic market town of Newbury, where it joins the river Kennet. The river is a "Winterbourn", as it tends to dry up for weeks in the summer months.
