I was supposed to be scouting a location. Worried about the job, worried about the bills, worried about a desk of paperwork that never seemed to be tended to, I was barely paying attention to my surroundings. BAM! I blew a flat. I waited for the dust to settle. I was so barely paying attention; I had not even realized that I had wandered onto a dirt road. I got out of my SUV grumbling something about this was the last thing I needed. The flat was worse than I thought. I was not going anywhere.
Just as I began to think (or pray), Now what? I noticed an old rickety pick-up truck kicking up dust down the dirt road toward me. I chuckled. I felt like I was in a movie.
The license plate shouted at me, LIVLIFE. And what sounded more like one word than two, Yall right? was how the driver introduced himself.
The driver saw my flat and shook his head Come on. Get in the truck. Im a headin home for lunch. Im sure my wifell ave plenty made for one more. Then well come back with my tools an get it fixed for ya.
LIVLIFE was on his license plate. When was the last time I lived life? When was the last time I set myself free and played? Then something happened. I ignored my excuses. Are you sure you dont mind? I asked.
He said with a spirit of western hospitality, Come on. Get in the truck. Lets go eat...
I grabbed my camera gear, called home and said I would be late for dinner (by a few days). As the truck began to kick up dust again and the wind pulled at my face, I heard one of us yell, "YEEEE HAAA!
