Like many visitors, we went to Kaikoura to watch marine mammals. We saw 3 sperm whales and a pod of dusky dolphins (found only in the southern hemisphere). You can also see Hector's dolphins (the smallest and rarest of dolphins) and bottlenose dolphins.
