Fraser Island is one of Australia's beautiful World-Heritage areas. The island, 120km long and 10km wide is the world's largest sand island. It was created over thousands of years by a buildup of sand from the sea and wind. The local aboriginal history is the island was created by a god who sent his lover to earth and made her into the island. The island is beautiful and the vegetation varies from beach to sand dunes to beautiful tropical forests, lakes and pine forest. Roads are only accessable to 4WD vehicles. We visited here in December 2004.
