On my way to Scotland in May 2002, I spent about two days in London visitting my sister and brother-in-law. The city was preparing for the Queen's return for the final Golden Jubilee celebrations. The weather was depressingly grey with frequent drizzles and the occasional surprise bout of sunshine.
