Senglea the Unbeaten
Malta picture - During the Battle of Malta in 1942, Axis bombers dropped 6,000 tonnes of bombs, mostly on Senglea, where the Royal Navy had its dockyard. The town was completely destroyed but rose, Phoenix-like, from the ashes after the War, as this huge sculpture attests. Its proud motto is "Senglea -- Citta Invicta".
