The buses of Malta are official historic treasures. Of pre-WWII vintage, they offer bouncy, teeth-chattering, bone-jarring but inexpensive transportation everywhere. They are often decorated with religious articles by their proud drivers. My favorite one bore the sign "Holy Mother of God!"
