Beautifully restored, these Joo Chiat shophomes are further away from downtown Orchard Road. Rentals are around Singapore Dollars $6,000 per month, but they are in great demand. There is a swimming pool and lots of historical ambience in this quiet neighbourhood with more local Singaporeans than Caucasians. Short term rentals are acceptable unlike most shophomes. Suitable for families too. It is an incredible once in a life time experience for a young Caucasian expatriate to live in one of these historical shophomes away from the usual expat condos and large Caucasian population in Singapore.
