A ring in her nose and tattoos on her chin, this woman was kind enough to pose for a picture. A woman's life in Nepal is especially hard. Most girl babies are unwanted at birth. Young girls don't have the slight education opportunities their brothers get. Young women are married off when they are barely teenagers and must live with the parents of their husbands, too often enduring second class status. Women are expected to work as hard (sometimes harder) than the men, and also do their usual household chores . No wonder the life expectancy of the average Nepalese woman is under 50 years.
