The view of the Valley of the Ten Peaks from the top of Sentinal Pass is great! It also affords a good view of the Schiesser Ledges climbing route, which follows talus and gullies straight up between the two left-hand summits. Thanks for the view!

We hiked up china man's peak in 2001. We live in Liverpool,England and have lots of friends in Calgary. It was the first ever mountain we have hiked up, as you can imagine when it comes to mountains theres not a great deal of choice in England. It was great and were coming back this summer. Whoever said that the hike was easy obviously hikes every single day !!!!

The Majestic Rockies

I do agree that the most beautiful hikingtrails can be found in the Canadien Rocky's. I also have enjoyed the Rocky's immensely but never had the time to take such long walks. So thanks for showing me what I missed. Unfortunately you don't know why that trail is called the goat trail, because now I'll probably never know.

Some info about development - Lake Louise, famous for emerald waters and glittering reflections - this peaceful-looking spot is a battleground between a large Canadian hotel chain and environmentalists who want to put a stop to a proposed $45 million, six-story addition to the already-giant Chateau Lake Louise. The battle has raged for a decade, with those concerned ahout the effects on the environmet saying that such development threatens the natural wonders the parks were designed to protect. With 5 million visitors every year- Banff is already North America's most developed park. Those opposed say the hotel expansion will place undue stress on the fragile lake region and its wildlife - they also see it as a symbolic battle for the soul of Canada's national parks.
