Pawnee County Remembers Veterans
by
Terre Seuss
In Pawnee County, Nebraska, a flag flies for each veteran with a connection to the county. On every flag holiday, volunteers place hundreds of flags on the Court House lawn. Each flag a statement, an ideal, an honor to fly.

United We Stand
No matter how many....
For all who served....
Our Flag was still there....
For each who stood tall....
We stand still today
Those in peril.....
Straight and Proud

As they catch the breeze
Strolling with Old Glory

Were so gallantly streaming.

And the Home of the Brave

Thanks Pawnee County
I bet that you had large Flag displays before 9/11. And you will still have them flying high after 9/11 is forgotten. Great job - keep up the great Flag displays.

It is nice to see that there are still places in America that take put forth the time and effort to properly honor our nation's heritage.
Nice work!
