I've been away shooting the Alaska and Russian articles I just posted here, and today I came across your Italian photos that were posted while I was gone. You are an excellent travel photographer, Tim -- your photos of Tuscany and Venice provide a wonderful sense of place and go far beyond the usual travel snapshot. I also salute you for never using flash in your indoor photos -- as a result your interiors come to life in a natural way. I also enjoy the way you often abstract people to use them in a symbolic way by blurring them, silhouetting them, or shooting them from behind. When I look at your thumbnails, I notice how almost every picture is made from an appropriate distance and vantage point, and how well you create a center of interest in each shot. As a result, your pictures hold together, rather than fall apart. Thanks, Tim, for sharing your eye with us.
