In boh these valleys, the sides generally more adapted for the cultivation of the vine and the sangiovese (with the obvious and appropriate exceptions) are those positioned to the orographic right of the respective rivers. These sides, which are in turn divided by streams that run perpendicular to the main river, are marked by a series of parallel watersheds whose exposed side is the most apt to growing vines. In the specific case of the Greve in Chianti community, two large subzones can be identified. The first one corresponds practically to the entire Greve Valley where famous places such as Ruffoli and Lamole are found.
