Dipsticks-not elegant but neccessary picture - 10/01/05 - I fabricated a new dipstick and tube because the one that came with the Ford 302 engine (the black one) was way too long. The new dipstick assembly is made from a piece of the 5/16" steel fuel tube that came with the kit. I soldered a ring at the bottom where it fits into the block. I made a mount for the tube which is soldered on and that bolts to the ignition wire loom. I shortened the stick and re-fitted it to the original handle. It's exactly the same reletive length so I will be as accurate as the orignal stick.
