1/21/06 - The worst thing about the FFR replica is the location and installation of the emergency brake. The instructions have it installed on the floor of the passenger area in front of the seat. The problem is, you can't reach it when you are driving and strapped in. I decided (after much thought) to relocate the brake lever to the side of the transmission tunnel. The original Cobras mounted it very nearly in the same location. I fabricated a steel bracket to mount the OEM Mustang ebrake lever on the side on the transmission tunnel. I just happend to have a piece of steel laying around that had the right shape so no bending was needed. I welded gussets (not shown) behind the top edge of the bracket to keep it from flexing. I secured it with 5 self tapping screws because it was impossible to drill through the 1" tube due to the angle of the drill motor. The self tappers bite well and hold the bracket very securely.
