Adding Bump Stops To Bilstein Shocks<br> picture - 3/03/06 - There has been some evidence that these shock can fail if they bottom out. It's rare but I'm not taking any chances. I modified a rubber piece from a bag of conventional tube shock mounting hardware for use as an integral bump stop. The bottom rubber part is modified by grinding a bevel on the top end. The top part is the original/unmodified piece.
