10/15/06 - Sprayed the second application (3 coats) of FFG2. This photo was taken 3 days later when I mist-sprayed the rattle can guide coat. Over the next 2 days I blocked it so I could shoot what turned out to be another application of the many coats of FFG2 high build primer. All said, I used almost 2 gallons of FFG2. Blocking the body is more than just sanding. It's actually shapping the curves and valleys. It's tedious, frustrating and very time consuming. It takes two full days to block the body, doors, hood, scoop and trunk lid. I use a veriety of sanding boards and home made objects like radiator hoses, cardboard tubes and paint sticks to get into the curves. To check the sides for staightness, I wet them and viewed the reflection of a broom stick. If it wavered, then another round of FFG2 was applied and blocked.
