I was stumped on how to make a nice transition between the carpet and the body edge. The U-shaped plastic channel that comes with the kit didn't fit well. I picked up some 1/2" X 1/2" X 6' aluminum angle stock and cut it in half at 3' to make each side. Then I used a cutoff wheel and made cuts on one edge every 1/2". This was so I could bend the aluminum around the door edge opening. After I got the curve right, I covered the aluminum piece in leather and used weather strip cement to glue it in place. It made a nice clean transition and fits well with the other leather in the car.

Note the door limit strap. I dyed it black to match. I used 3/8" stainless acorn nuts to hold the door hinge to the door.
