I tape 2 pieces of paper to the floor at the front wheels on each side. Then lay this flat 1/8" aluminum panel against the wheel, pushing with my foot to assure a flush and accurate fit. Next, scribe marks on the paper using the edge of the plate as a guide at the front and rear of the tire. I do this for both sides of the car.
