Once the toe lines are scribed on the paper, I measure out in front and back of each tire 11" and make a mark on the paper (so toe measurements are taken the same distance from the tire). Then I take a measurement front and rear where the toe line intersects with the 11" line. I then subtract the measurements and assure the rear measurement is 1/16" longer than the front measurement. That provides 1/16" toe-in. That actually works out to the front being 68 3/16" and the rear being 68 1/4". That's 1/16" more in the back which is perfect. I repeat this several times after driving the car and it always measures the same.
