Coalgate Oklahoma downtown Sept 21 2002

The downtown area of Coalgate Oklahoma. Near by towns are Ada, and Atoka and Cottonwood Oklahoma.

My mother in-law was a teenager in 1944 ,and living in Cottonwood and she said her friends and her would walked the 15 miles or so from Cottonwood to Coalgate to walked around the downtown area, and go to the movies in downtown area.

Small towns
I was born in Ada, but live in Coalgate. My mom and dad were both born and raised in Coalgate. They both come from a long line of Coalgate Natives. My moms maiden name was Young. She has a bunch of relatives around. Burlesons, Walkers, Hendersons, Youngs. I haven't met half of the family.

Italians
My grandma and her family were Italian immigrants the lived in Phillips near Coalgate. I drove through once while moving a frined to Arizona. I was intrigued and can't wait ot return and explore some more. I now live in Seattle, but Milwaukee is my real home.
