These pictures were taken in September, 2002 after an unusually dry summer and fall. There weren't too many flowers in bloom.

Lilla was educated in public schools in Barlow and Aurora, at the Tualatin Academy, and at the University of Oregon in Eugene, where she studied under Albert R. Sweetser. In 1913, Lilla married John R. Leach, a Portland pharmacist.
