The Burgess Shale located in Yoho National Park, BC, Canada is considered as "highly sensitive fossils" depository area in the world. It is extremely protected under Parks Canada and UNESCO.

On August 28th, 2002, I went on this hike led by the Burgess Shale Foundation with cooperation of TransCanada and the Calgary Science Centre.

It is a Cambrian Fossils deposit, (The Burgess Shale) represents a snapshot of the evolution of a marine biota that would come to dominate the world's oceans for the next 300 million years. ... (more)
