The tuk tuk is the Thai equivalent of the Indian autorickshaw, thoug this one is a tad larger. Tuk Tuks have a dubious reputation for daredevilry by their drivers, and the tendency of several of them to rip you off. Lobbying by the tuk tuk owners has meant that despite the lesser comfort and slower speed, tuk tuks are almost as expensive as the taxis. These vehicles are fast disappearing in Bangkok.
