Durian on the edge of Chinatown
Sightseeing in Kuala Lumpur picture - Durian is a prickly, spiny fruit, the Thai equivalent of the Indian jackfruit. Its reverred all over the Far East as the king of fruits. It smells like engine oil and tastes like diesel: we couldn't stand it. Most hotels, public transport and shopping malls ban the carrying of durian in their premises, buses and trains. The smell lingers for ages.
