I arrived in Alice Springs with a day scheduled for a hoped for day trip in the East MacDonnell Range before joining a tour group. But apparently I was the only person in the Alice at that time interested in seeing the East MacDonnells, so there were no day tours to sign up for. I ended up signing up for a trip to Palm Valley that included a stop in Hermannsburg. Turned out to be a great day trip.
