Yeah, biking is not only a pleasurable activity, it also help you loose weight! When in Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, & Northern Thailand, you'll have no choice but to bike frequently 'coz that's the means of transport there - I lost +20 lbs. back there in 2000. Anyway, glad you like such pics, I'll publish another biking article in Cal. (I'll do Indochina much later on perhaps next year.) Thanks for the nice comment!

Biking during the summer vacation time is the best form of sightseeing. Gentle, you had such a great time in Yosemite that your pictures are more than open invitation to be there also reminds me of my past vacation time spent on a bicycle in Europe long time ago. Thanks for viewing this article, really appreciate your nice comment! I tried your website but wasn't succesful & so, here's my response to your querry, I hope it will be of any help.

Yosemite's campgrounds are always full that most of the time, we end-up camping outside the park for free! (Yes, it's allowed since Yosemite is always full.) Bath/shower & toileting is not a problem since there are numerous facilities inside the park or you can simply swim at the river, or the park's swimming pool, or by the waterfall itself! Wherever you swim, you're bound to have fun. (You'll see all these fun activities in Part II.) As for the bikes, they're rented-out for a reasonable price but we bring our own.

Now since this park's SO BIG with many hiking trails, then do the basic - bring lots of fluid! (though basic anemities is not a problem since there are stores & restaurants where you'll find everything you need.) Also, there are shuttle buses & other transports for free that can take you to various places of the park & so, getting around is not a problem. Gotta have 3-5 days at the minimum to really explore here. The only major expense is the park's entrance [$20] & so, it's best to buy the "U.S. National Park" pass [I'm not sure if it cost $50] but it allows you to enter any park for the season. Now that's a bargain!

As for driving at nite inside the park, expect to be pulled-over & your vehicle be checked thoroughly by the park rangers if your car is loaded. This happened to us several times in the past but it's not harassing at all since the rangers simply want to protect the park & its visitors. As for the bears, they're hard to find but they easily find your food (they're so sneaky!) that any food has to be well-kept & locked or else, you won't have any breakfast the next day! We learned our lesson.
