Climbing Mt. Whitney
My friends Dave and Colin from northern England came over to climb Mt. Whitney in 2000. Mt. Whitney is the highest mountain in the lower 48 states at 14,496 feet (4392 metres). After about 12,000 feet, you need to take a deep breath every time you take a step due to the dwindling oxygen.
