In June of 2002 my husband and I set off to see southern Utah. Specifically, we were headed to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park. We had been to the Moab area and Arches National Park a few years before and were anxious to see more of the state. We are from the East Coast and flew into Las Vegas to begin our trip. The drive to Springdale,the town right outside of Zion, took about 3 hours. The drive was through mostly rocky desert and not too interesting. The town of Springdale was small but nice.
