Bakewell - A small town in Derbyshire.

Situated in the valley of the River Wye in Derbyshire, Bakewell is a picturesque market town and is the largest town in the Peak District National Park. Its name is thought to have originated the Saxon Badecan Wiellan or Badecas Springs.

Bakewell is perhaps best known not just nationally, but internationally as well, for the Bakewell Tart or, more correctly, the Bakewell Pudding. Hi Mike. Grand Photos of Bakewell. I have visited the Peak District on many occasions and you bring back memories of them times. I used to centre on Castleton and when I caravanned I used to wake up to a view of Mam Tor and Pecerill Castle. If you have time could you take photos of that area so my appetite can be wetted again to visit such a lovely area - Regards
