The Minar-e-Pakistan is a tall structure of concrete that was built in Iqbal Park. The word means "The Tower of Pakistan" and comemorates and site and day when the idea of Pakistan was thought of and passed. This is the site where in 1940, seven years before the formation of Pakistan, the Muslim League passed the Lahore Resolution in which the need for a separate homeland for the Muslims of India was finally recognized.
