Alor Star is a town which located in Northern Malaysia, about 50km south to the Malaysia and Thailand border. As other cities, there's also a China Town in Alor Star. I was grew up here. Local Chinese call it "Tua Keh" in Hokkien which means "big street" in English. It's a street but not a town in fact. All the shop houses in this street are built before World War II. But 12 houses were destroyed by fire in the second day of Chinese New Year in 2001. Here's some pictures of the night market in this street ... (more)
