The Coromandel Peninsula is a drive through narrow turning roads with diverse scenery. The road from Thames to Coromandel Town is flanked by the sea. The other side of the peninsula is green and very hilly with fewer towns. Fishing is popular and the area is known for mussels and oysters. The towns are very small and quiet.
