These photos were taken when we left Pahia on the east coast of the North Island. About 30 minutes south we came to KawaKawa which really was a surprise. At first we drove right past the toilets but a quick U turn brought us to our destination.
From KawaKawa the drive is through rural land until we reached the west coast.Once we got to Waimamaku the road took us through lush forrests that included the protected Kauri trees. The area is called the Kauri Coast and is rich in New Zealand heritage.
