We began our hike at Marahau, about 42 miles northwest of Nelson. The Abel Tasman National Park has numerous hikes, we chose the Coastal Track (32 miles) of relatively easy hiking on an incrediablely well maintained trail. Although we walked for 3 hours to do the entire 32 miles many folks backpack in and spend their nights camping on the beaches.
