After an arduous 20 minute trek uphill, we got to this lighthouse which was originally built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. Strangely, this part of the cape belonged to the neighbouring state of Malacca, and we unknowingly crossed the border into another state somewhere! Apparently, you will be able to see Sumatra, Indonesia, 38km away across the Straits of Malacca on a good day.
