Gems!!!
Philip, you are a genius with the digital camera. Your interpretation of the world around you is so frsh and inspiring. The thumbnails look like studded gems. When I click on them, I am transported into an amazing world that is so full of drama and pathos and vibrantly colourful. I am awestruck by all the images. My favourite is the cat of La Boca. What a fantastic shot of a fantastic moment. Another favourite is the silhoutted image of the risen Christ.I have seen many images of this famous landmark, but only this has made an impression on me. By the way, I have just revisited your Kamchatka album. This is probably my 50th time, but I still get all excited about the photos. Cheers!

I liked the people photographs best. I liked the African family and two children. The painted face of the mother makes her very different from people in the US. However, the care for her children makes her exactly the same. I liked the party photo in Brazil, "Raising the Roof". The two older ladies in the forground seem to know how to party better then the young people in the background. In this photo, I can hear the music.

Thank you, Bill, for taking the time to add your comments to my article. It is always special when someone who has shared a trip with me can bring their own perspective to bear on my imagery. I was also inspired by the tremendously informative (and entertaining) lectures about the political and social forces at work in Latin America that you presented to us on the Marco Polo. Effective travel photographers must come to understand their subject matter if they are to interpret it with a camera.
