A closing shot, New Years Day, 2003<br> South America picture - As our trip drew to a close in Buenos Aires, the rain clouds lifted and the sun appeared for the first time since our arrival. For my last picture of this trip, I used the sun as backlight, moving underneath the statue of El Liberatador in the Plaza San Martin. My intention was to make an abstract image that speaks of power, strength, and hope -- my New Year Greeting to the people of Argentina.
