A statue of Cecil Rhodes stills stands in the heart of Cape Town. Rhodes built South Africa's diamond mining industry in the 19th Century, wanted to establish British rule from "Cape to Cairo", and was virtual dictator of The Cape Colony. Yet he is still memorialized in Cape Town.
