Glacier National Park is one of the real jewels of our National Park system. It is a day hikers paradise. In 12 days there, my wife and I hiked over 80 miles of trails and were never disapppointed. These pictures show a lot of snow because June of 2002 brought at lot (5 feet) of late spring snows. The Going-to-the-Sun Road didn't open until June 29th, the latest in modern history. We were in the park the first two weeks in July and the high mountain trails were still impassible. This was more than made up for by the very full streams and waterfalls and the incredible lower elevation wildflowers due to the increased moisture.

Be sure to take in Waterton Lake Park, a Canadian park which borders Glacier. The Sheep and Bear pictures were taken there. It is a beautiful park in its own right with a lot of great trails and fewer people.

I always hate to rank national parks because I love them all and they all have their own unique features, but I would say Glacier is number two on my "must see" list of places in the US (Grand Canyon is number one)

Allow at least a week and preferably longer and try to stay on both sides of the park for a while to enjoy the different things they have to offer.
