You have a lot of nice animal shots! The bear picture is impressive. Also, you've got a great eye for capturing nature at its best.

Breckenridge to Jackson
Having lived in Breckenridge Ski Resort for most of my adult life, I find another area that is special and beautiful as well. These pictures are true works of art.

Response to your question
This was actually my second bear encounter in 2 years and I'm amazed by the number of people who ask the same question. We rounded a curve on the Cascade Canyon trail and ran into this guy in the middle of the trail. When we arrived there were two groups of two hikers on both sides of the trail blocked by the bear. Two more hikers arrived on our side while we were waiting for him (her?) to move. The bear seemed quite ambivalent about us. The year before my wife and I ran into a Volkswagon sized black bear while biking at the Canmore Nordic Center. So far, 2003 has been bear free.

Wonderful photos. How did you manage to get that bear on the trail? Not that I am envious, but I have logged hundred of hours on hiking trails in the West and have NEVER had a bear encounter.... You must lead a charmed life!
