Here are some of the photos from the time we spent in Beijing. Being there over the Chinese New Year festival is like trying to travel and sightsee during the Christmas holiday in the U.S.; everything is closed while people go home to be with their families. It is traditional for the Chinese to light all kinds of fireworks at the new year, but the city was quiet because fireworks have been banned in most large cities in China, including Beijing.
