The Centre, which is based in Cumbernauld, combines conductive education, as devised at the Peto Institute in Budapest, with the Scottish curriculum. Craighalbert teaches the children independence, everyday activities and life skills, within a nursery or school day. Craighalbert is a nursery and school. Children who are unable to attend on a daily basis, however, may attend Periodic Placements. These placements can last from one week to three months, when the children stay within the care of their family in one of the three houses owned by the Centre or the short-term accommodation, which is a vailable within the Centre building. </div></nolayer></noembed>
